Georgetown Conflict Resolution vs Seton Hall Diplomacy

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone! I was recently admitted to Georgetown's Conflict Resolution program with limited funding and into Seton Hall's Diplomacy with substantially more funding. I know that Walsh is Gtown's hallmark IR program, but does anyone know anything about the CR program reputation or specifically in comparison to SHU? I'm having a hard time justifying the $60,000-ish additional Gtown will cost but it is hard to say no to Georgetown....also came out of undergrad debt free and will have some help (but not a ton) from family with the financial aspect if that makes a difference. Thanks!

With what little I know about the realm of conflict resolution, I can say that Gtown's program isn't well known for placing too many of it's grads at many of the "sought after" employers (State, USAID, USIP, etc.). George Mason has a more esteemed Con Res program than Gtown. Seton Hall is a lesser known program, but they have tons of connections at the UN from what I hear. I would try to connect with people that work at the agencies/NGOs you wish to work for and ask them what they think. Seton Hall may not have the pedigree of Georgetown, but you may want to go where the money is.
