  1. I have no advice to offer for the schools, but in terms of Washington State being GRE optional I would say if your GRE scores are good and you think they will help your application then send them. My undergrad school was test optional but I had really good ACT scores so I sent them anyways and it helped increase my scholarship! Good luck with everything!
  2. I just attended an admitted students day so I can try to answer some of your questions! My biggest tip is ask as many questions as you can, especially if you get a chance to talk to current students. We asked the current students about places to live, the rigor of the program, how they are financially able to afford the program (there is very limited funding available) and they answered our questions honestly and openly so we were able to really gain an understanding of what it would be like to be in the program. Also if you have better offers from other schools, don't be afraid to bring that up to you program coordinator and ask if there are any additional opportunities for funding. Although the program didn't have any additional funding opportunities in terms of scholarships, they did have RA positions open that are paid. Additionally, get to know the other people there! They may be your classmates or even roommates in the future! Finally, go in with an open mind, enjoy the experience and remember, they admitted you because they want you there! Good luck!
  3. Hi everyone! I was recently admitted to Georgetown's Conflict Resolution program with limited funding and into Seton Hall's Diplomacy with substantially more funding. I know that Walsh is Gtown's hallmark IR program, but does anyone know anything about the CR program reputation or specifically in comparison to SHU? I'm having a hard time justifying the $60,000-ish additional Gtown will cost but it is hard to say no to Georgetown....also came out of undergrad debt free and will have some help (but not a ton) from family with the financial aspect if that makes a difference. Thanks!
  4. Hi everyone! While I am still waiting on one more decision, ultimately I am down to deciding between a masters at Georgetown (Conflict Resolution) or Seton Hall (Diplomacy and International Relations). While Georgetown has been the dream for years, it is also incredibly expensive (even with the small scholarship offered). SHU offered a research assistantship which helps cover about half the cost of tuition. Basically, I'm trying to figure out if the financial attractiveness of SHU is worth giving up the dream of Georgetown. I am planning to visit both in the next couple of weeks and hopefully have a better idea after that, but if anyone has any advice or has experience with either of the programs it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
