Apartment Insurance

I used State Farm while I was in California because it was also my auto insurance provider. Bundling your insurance plans saves money! I actually had 3 policies from State Farm: auto, renters/apartment, and a personal liability umbrella policy. I found that it was much cheaper to purchase only the very minimum in personal liability for auto and renters insurance and then purchase a large personal liability umbrella policy instead. Having 3 plans with State Farm instead of just 2 gives a much greater bundle discount, in my experience.

You definitely want renter's insurance! I would get quotes from multiple companies (easy to do online). Some companies also offer discounts if you're a good student so that may be something to look into.
