Raquay
How long does it usually to take to hear back about an interview date after your application is completed/submitted to the Hunter College MSW program? My application was completed a few days ago. Wondering how long to hear about an interview date.
TeacherTurningSocialWorker
My timeline has been like this: submitted application on 2/8/18. References finally came through on 3/8, received email that my application is complete on 3/9. Received request for interview on 3/13. Interviewed 4/2. Accepted 4/4. Have seen that it really varies for most people. Some people applied in January and still haven't heard back... Good luck!
cfabre
This is my timeline: my application was submitted 2/4/2018 and it was completed 2/7/2018. I received an email for an interview on 3/1 and scheduled the interview for 3/7. But because of a snow storm it was rescheduled for 3/19/2018. I haven't heard back yet. It seems hunter is very slow with everything unfortunately.
Zyra
This is my timeline: Application was submitted 3/9/2018 and the recommendations were completed on 3/16/2018. I received an email for an interview on 3/20/2018. I scheduled for an interview on 3/26/2018. I have not heard back since. I was told it would take roughly two weeks, but I heard of students waiting at least a month. I keep checking my application every day and it still says " Pending Interview"

Was it hard and what kind of questions did they ask?

Was it hard and what kind of questions did they ask? Not difficult at all. Just be prepared to answer potential follow up questions when answering why hunter, why social work, and your related experience. If you’re a career changer (like me), make the connection clear (if that applies) or make the moment you knew social work was a better fit clear. you also get a writing sample- a bit dense, but not difficult. my best advice is to be yourself. Sell yourself while still being yourself. I could tell my whole group was nervous, but it ended up feeling more like a conversation. Also show that you can listen to your peers and be succinct and clear in your answers! good luck!

info.mentalhealth
hello All! I submitted my application 2/1 for Hunter MSW (clinical 2 year program). i check today 2/5 for an update and my application says "incomplete: missing transcripts" which is wrong because i submitted EVERYTHING including recommendation letter. Has anyone else had/ have this issue? what should i do? could it be because my official transcripts haven't been submitted yet? ( this is need only upon acceptance) Also, what are my chances of being accepted stats: 3.4 gpa/ 3.8 gpa in my sociology major. One volunteer experience (feeding the homeless). 3 recommendations from prior professors. I'm a certified Mental health First aider through the "ThriveNYC" program. I have no work experience in the field but i expressed my commitment/ strengths to the field of clinical social work in my statement of purpose. dixieappel
