  1. CC or email the director kokuda@hunter.cuny.edu. It's not a requirement to meet with the advisor. I asked my advisor if we could he said because of a time it is not necessary. Who is your advisor?
  2. Hey there is a facebook group it's HCSSW entourage. It's a private group so you do have to answer questions to be in the groups
  3. Hey guys! So I just came from advisement. Registration starts May 16. You can find your time on cunyfirst. And pre orientation is June 14 and 21. Orientation is August 21 and 22. These are the dates for the 2 year program.
  4. I finished all the steps. Has anyone heard about orientation or field placements? I was told we register for classes May 15 but nothing about orientation
  5. Hey I would accept the work study. As you said any kind of money helps. I’ve heard work study is on campus and most jobs are really laid back so maybe you’ll get lucky and get a good job placement
  6. Hey! Congrats on getting accepted to both schools!! I decided on hunter mostly because of the money. I submitted my commitment deposit last week. I received a similar scholarship to you for NYU. And the cost of the msw program at hunter is one year at NYU. So NYU is double the price of hunter. For me the debt isn’t worth it. If you’re going for a clinical track hunter still has a great program.
  7. Hey! It took me almost four weeks to hear back! I kept telling myself no news is still good news to not go crazy while waiting. Hopefully you hear back soon.
  8. Ask yourself what is making you stuck between the two schools? And what is more important to you money or the program? I was accepted to both schools and decided on Hunter because of the money. What you will pay at Hunter for the whole program is what you will pay at NYU just for one year and maybe even more. So NYU is double the price. I was even offered a pretty good scholarship, $17,000 and NYU is still too expensive for me. I asked NYU for me and they said that's the most they give. For me being in that much debt for NYU is just not worth it. Hunter also has a really good program so I don't believe you will be missing out on anything academic wise. I have also spoken with people that have gone to NYU and Columbia and they said the debt was not worth it. It's a lot to think about but hopefully this helped.
  9. I think they just wanted to know how you see yourself and how you relate to others that have a different social identity than you do. That honestly was a tricky question. But, just be yourself and answer honestly. They say there's no right or wrong answer
  10. They finally got back to me on 4/13 almost 4 weeks later and was accepted! I told them during the interview and whenever i called that i needed a response asap which was true. I don't know why it took so long for them to get back to me.
  11. Yes I will! It was my first choice I guess we will keep each other updated on the date for student orientation.
  12. The wait is finally over!! I was accepted to Hunter!!!!!
  13. Did anyone that already attend an interview just get another email inviting them to a group interview?
