SoCali
Obviously a master’s degree other than SLP. Do programs factor your grad school GPA at all or only undergrad? Do you think having a master’s degree helps or hinders an applicant’s chances of getting into a master’s program to become an SLP( or makes no difference)? I do not have another master's degree, but I will say that if your GPA is good in a graduate program, I think it absolutely helps your chances. I would think schools would like to see grades that are more telling of how you would do in a master's program.

SopranoSLP
I already had a masters degree in another field, and I definitely used those classes to calculate my last 90 credits GPA, etc. I agree with the previous poster, that it helps prove that you can succeed in grad school. draySLP1
I have a previous masters degree in another field and was under the impression it would help (gpa 3.8) but I asked 2 schools I was rejected from for a reason and both said it was because of my undergrad gpa (2.97) so I guess the fact I clearly am capable of doing well in a grad program didn't matter to them. SoCali
Interesting. I hope you get an acceptance soon! Where did you take your SLP pre-reqs? I am trying to sort through all the pre-reqs I need and it looks like I will be taking courses with 3 schools.

I did the post-ba program at SUNY New Paltz, took additional SLP pre-reqs at Sacred Heart and Western Kentucky University, and did a few of the general ed ASHA requirements at 3 different community colleges! Sounds exactly like what I will be doing! Post-bacc at one school, picking up additional classes at 3 other schools, and ASHA requirements at community college.
