brianmc Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 Can anybody throw up the names of any MFA Studio Art programs that they know of that take applications and admit students in the spring semester for those of us who didn't get accepted for the fall. I can't fathom another year and a half at my dead end job...it's miserable. dmirko 1
littlenova Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 (edited) @brianmc: I know the low-residency programs have rolling admission...Mass Art has a good one. If you hurry you can make the March 15th deadline. They may even give you an extension... But, now that I rememeber, you mentioned wanting a teaching assistanship and significant funding...and low residency is not really designed for that. Maybe attending a residency and working some more this year and reapplying next year might be your best bet. I know it is probably a little disappointing, but it happens. If I were you, I'd apply to several schools, too. I applied right out of undergrad a few years ago and applied to 3 schools and only got into one. I was devastated, but after 3 years of working and doing 2 residencies, my work is MUCH stronger and I have been accepted/interviewed at every school this time around. (I applied to 5) Much better success. Best of luck to ya! Edited March 9, 2010 by littlenova
stofo Posted March 9, 2010 Posted March 9, 2010 I'm pretty sure that Claremont Graduate University in Southern California has Spring admission, being a graduate only school, I would imagine no teaching or ta opportunities.
michaelwebster Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 East Carolina University in Greenville, NC has admissions both semesters. If your interested send me any questions about it.
lamissleona Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Also Montclair State has Spring and rolling for Fall. I was told today that if I can get my stuff in within a couple weeks I can be considered for THIS fall. Too soon for me to move across the country but I will apply by November for Spring. Montclair has TA's and also location location location. Super close Access to New York while living cheap in NJ...plus a decent price on tuition. Parking on campus is one of the worst around from what I hear, but I am not taking that into account. Location is key for me.

lamissleona Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Oh, and I forgot to mention SFAI....good school, pricey, lots of options and various aid.
