Question about Statement of Purpose

Hello everyone,

When writing your statement of purpose, should you mention specific labs & professors that you're interested in and why you think you're a good fit (like mention the professors by name and such). Does it matter if you mention a professor you haven't sent an email to, and about how many specific professors/labs should you mention?

Definitely read at least the first page on this post, there is some excellent advice that really helped with my SOP.

Yes mention professors and labs you are interested and explain research fit. I think you can list up to three, although I usually only mentioned two. Also you can list professors that you haven't emailed.
