chinchilla Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I am applying for a PhD in Political Science. I already have a MA in Politics and am currently working on a Masters in Public Administration (top program). My grad GPA is 3.8 across both institutions. The issue is, my GRE scores aren't stellar. Most programs I am interested in do not post GRE requirements, but I get the sense that they're looking for candidates with V/Q scores around 160. I doubt retaking would improve my scores (I am not a great test taker) and I feel that my post-undergrad education is a better indicator of my academic ability than GRE scores. Here are my scores (now 3 years old): V 158 (79%) Q 159 (75%) W 4.5 (80%) Looking for a second opinion, thanks.
ResilientDreams Posted September 24, 2018 Posted September 24, 2018 I think your scores are fine. chinchilla 1
nietzsche's moustache Posted September 25, 2018 Posted September 25, 2018 I think your scores wouldn't break you, I would focus on other aspects of the application. chinchilla 1
