I`ve studied Psychology in Romania, my converted GPA is 3.8, and I will take my GRE exam soon, I got some tutoring and I`m doing really good at the simulation. I`d really want to get into a Social or Cognitive (or combined) Psychology program in USA, but I see most require research, and most people here say you don`t really stand any chance without research experience. The thing is, here there are not so many research opportunities, and I`m willing to go for international research, but I`m not really sure where I can find any. I`ve looked up on APA site, but most of them are not suitable for ?international students. Also I found some research internships in Europe but they are exagerately expensive. And to be honest, I`d prefer USA . Could anyone help with this?
Another question would be if I should still apply to any programs this year or wait till I get some research ?
I forgot to mention, as a career path, I am actually interested in research, and I`m looking forward to working in an academic environment.
