NYCStudent Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 Hi everyone! So far...crickets on my end in terms of admissions decisions. I'm trying to stay hopeful, though! For those of you who've been put on a waiting list - either this admissions cycle or previous ones - are you usually notified of that, or does the absence of a rejection email mean you're still under consideration? Many of my schools have already sent out acceptances, so I'm wondering if I'm possibly on the "second tier" and may get offered a spot if folks reject their offers?
ErikaFate Posted January 30, 2019 Posted January 30, 2019 I've had one school call me and tell me that I've been put on their waiting list. I haven't heard anything from most of the other schools that already sent out acceptances, and my applications continue to say "pending" or "in review." I think it must be that each school has a different practice for this.
hardatwork Posted February 1, 2019 Posted February 1, 2019 Following because I'm in the same boat. I've got a lot of "in reviews" that are contributing to the sinking pit that is forming in my stomach.
NYCStudent Posted February 1, 2019 Author Posted February 1, 2019 Man, mine don’t even say that! They’re just “completed” or “submitted”. sociopolitic and sluggerotoole 2
socio1251 Posted February 6, 2019 Posted February 6, 2019 I received an email from the Rutgers graduation director informing me that I am on waitlist. I haven't heard back from other schools either.
sluggerotoole Posted February 7, 2019 Posted February 7, 2019 It's in the communication department not sociology, but I got an email with a letter attached from USC to inform me of being on the "alternate list".
