ValeTudoFlow Posted February 18, 2019 Posted February 18, 2019 Hi all, I'll be applying to Literature and some explicitly interdisciplinary PhD programs (mostly in the US) within the next year after completing my MA in English Lit. It isn't my biggest consideration by any means, but I'm always interested to see the different ways different doctoral programs treat students coming in with MA degrees. I've noticed some effectively require or prefer it, others do not. Some that do not give students with an MA a bye, so to speak, on a few classes, and others give you the option to skip a greater deal. Some programs don't seem to give a great indication either way on their sites. I'm curious if anyone knows if there are any English Lit PhD programs that seem to give considerable weight to MA degrees from students when it comes to the amount of class credit hours they'll need to complete. Thanks much in advance!
