slp2be21 Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 (edited) Hi Everyone! What did or do you do to help calm anxiety when waiting for a letter? I am so anxious and impatient. I have been waiting over a month, and I know it could be even longer until I hear back from any of the schools I applied too. I was just wondering if any of you guys have recommendations of things to do to stay busy! Edited February 26, 2019 by slp2be21

Like if I don’t here from X by tuesday I’ll call them, but then tuesday comes and I say well, I bet they’ll email me by Friday. Haha I’m with you!
lasmith Posted February 26, 2019 Posted February 26, 2019 My best advice is throwing yourself into something you love. For me that used to be classes or leadership positions I have been in or my job. (I use to coach volleyball.) Although as I am graduating in May, I don't nearly have the class load I am use to. I don't have any leadership positions either and I'm not coaching. I just got hired on to work at Girl Scouts. (Signing paperwork later today.) But because of my light schedule I haven't been nearly busy as I usually am. So instead I've turned to those anxiety reducing coloring books. There a great distraction. I also love baking so I've been trying to make cakes and work on my techniques. Although, I still check my email often and grad cafe. I enjoy posting in forums to distract myself or get advice. I recently got rejected from one of my safety schools and sought out advice on here. A lot of people here are so nice and helpful. I also try to not keep my mail open on my computer while I'm working because I will stop to check it for every email and that wastes a lot of time and is a huge distraction. Long story short, do something you love and try to get off Grad cafe.
