anhdinh Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) Hi guys, So I applied to the MA program in Comparative Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam in Fall 2019. Deadline for program application was March 1, but I submitted mine before Jan 15 because I also applied to the Amsterdam Merit Scholarship. On March 11 the school sent me an announcement that I was granted the scholarship. However, they told me that the fact I got the scholarship meant I “would likely be an excellent student for the program,” but I was “not yet officially admitted to the program.” They said the scholarship and the admission are 2 separate processes, and that the admission result will come in 3-4 more weeks (which means April 15-30). I am freaking out because this is a very weird situation. Do you think I should be worried about not being admitted at all, even given the scholarship. I know the scholarship is given to competitive candidates (only a few are provided to the whole Humanities department) but since they said it is separate from the admission, would the admission board ignore it? Or would the scholarship guarantee a place for me already? Thanks. Edited March 24, 2019 by anhdinh
