Are LOR content requirements similar across schools?

Hi,

If I ask my recommenders to write LORs to, say, 8 schools, would they have to put in considerable work to edit each LOR to fit individual schools? If so, I may consider reducing the number of schools I apply to.

I am interested in applying to Psychology PhDs- I heard there was a shared system for LORs between business schools, but couldn't find any for Psych.

As long as they are for the same type of program (i.e. all clinical or all social, etc.) then there shouldn't be that much editing for your letter writers.
