is it a good idea to get a LOR from a linguistics professor?

Most grad schools want someone within the CSD field such as your speech science, phonetics professors etc.

Personally lingustics is a field that is related to being an slp so I think as long as they are able to write you a strong letter of recommendation then it's ok! Definitely still try and get someone in CDIS too.

I applied from out of field and was still takungvmy prereqs when I applied, so I used 3 different linguistics professors for my LORs. I'm sure that having at least one CSD prof would have been better, but sometimes you gotta do whatcha gotta do.
