I've been placed in the waitlist at Pardee RAND Graduate School for a PhD in Policy Analysis. Does anyone have any idea about the likelihood of getting into RAND through waitlist. How often do they take students from the waitlist? Should I have any hope at all?

No I am an international applicant.....Do you know when waitlisted candidates get to know about their status.....And any idea if people have been accepted from the waitlist....Moreover, how many applicants did they waitlist.....?

From the waitlist/alternate email I received from RAND, they stated that most likely they would be able to tell us by April 15th, which is the deadline for those accepted to either reject or accept going to RAND. I have no idea how many people had been waitlisted! I was hoping it was just me, but it seems like its both of us, at least. I get no sense, either, as to whether or not any slots will actually open up.

I was more partial to RAND at the beginning of the application process, but I have to admit that after being accepted by some very high profile schools for Master's programs, there is not a great chance that I would take a phd offer. I'd prefer to get a master's from one of these programs, then attend a higher profile program for my phd. But thats me.

How about you? Any thoughts on what you are doing? Would you take it if accepted?
