spider-man Posted October 28, 2019 Posted October 28, 2019 I got a 163V/150Q/5.0W and I'm applying to schools like UCLA, UChicago, and University of Colorado. My quant score is definitely below average, and isn't even 50th percentile. I'm wondering if that will prevent them from even viewing my application. I'm not worried about it being a dealbreaker for my application since I doubt it'll get to that point, but I'd like my application to at least get checked out.
PsyDuck90 Posted October 29, 2019 Posted October 29, 2019 It really depends on the program. You just miss the 315 cut-off some schools have but are over the 310 that others might. If it's clinical, they should be posting the average stats of their incoming classes over the last few years, so you can see how you stack up against those.
spider-man Posted October 29, 2019 Author Posted October 29, 2019 I'm doing social psychology, so I'm hoping that's slightly less competitive.
stryder Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 @spider-man Any update on your progress? I have super similar GRE scores to you, and had also applied to a Health Psychology MA program. Unfortunately didn't get in this semester, so I'm wondering if I should redo my GRE so that I can do better on that Quant, haha.

I would think an MA program would require less than the PhD program that the poster is thinking of?
