studygal Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 hi everyone! I was wondering whether it's worth it to retake the GRE. I'm applying to some pretty competitive state schools in CA without a background in speech (currently working on post-bac), as well as a few out of states. My scores from my first time are 163V, 151Q, and 4.5 AW, but I'm worried that this won't make me stand out enough. I'm hesitant to retake since I'm already forgetting some of the material and really struggled with quant, plus I think that time might be better spent on schoolwork, SOP, etc. Does anyone have thoughts, advice, or tips? TIA ❤️
KEIM Posted November 7, 2019 Posted November 7, 2019 Your scores are great for SLP programs. I don't think you should be worried at all! I wouldn't retake it. I know CA schools are competitive but as long as you meet their cut offs, there's no need to be concerned that the GRE is what will disqualify you. Maybe check Edfind to confirm.
MadisonMachelle Posted November 11, 2019 Posted November 11, 2019 Those are very competitive scores. They recommend you retake it only if you have under a 300 combined score, typically.
