PsyD deadlines how close is too close?

Question

Hi all! Procrastinator / perfectionist here. applying to PsyD programs. I’m still polishing my personal statement and I’m wondering how close is too close to the deadline to submit?

Are there any benefits to submitting early? Do the schools see you submitted three days before and negatively view your time management? Should you be giving a grace period to make sure everything is properly received and calling to check in with admissions offices?

This is my first admissions cycle and my nerves about having things perfect are through the roof!

While it is a good idea to give a bit of a buffer in case you need to resubmit things, admissions typically don't look at apps until after the deadline. It's called a deadline for a reason. That's when they want you to submit things by.
