nkmarigold Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 Hi all, I've always been awful in math (and did terribly on quant during my previous GRE test) but managed to get a 152 score the most recent time that I took the GRE. I felt pretty good about that until I realized that essentially is a 49th percentile score. If my verbal score percentile is in the 90s, will they overlook my poor math performance? Wondering if anyone has any experience with this personally. I'm mostly applying to schools in CA and hoping they won't weed out my application with a score under the 50th percentile on one of the sections!
submarine Posted December 20, 2019 Posted December 20, 2019 I believe you have nothing to worry about! I was able to get into three of six CSUs I applied to with 152 (45th percentile) in math and 159 (83rd percentile) in verbal.
KEIM Posted December 26, 2019 Posted December 26, 2019 You're fine. My quant score is much lower and I'm still applying. 152 actually seems like the average score or a little bit above average for the programs I'm applying to.
