Has anyone gotten into Waterloo yet? I applied for Sociology and according to the results sections two people have received acceptances over the phone a couple weeks ago. Are acceptances over the phone common?

I've applied for a Geography masters at UofT and my (potential) supervisor told me to expect an answer sometime in March. Can't wait. The time frame might be different for international applicants though! Best of luck to everyone.

So nice of you! Glad to hear that.
I wrote an email to my potential supervisor in last year October. At that time, she told me that she's interested in my project plus encouraged me to apply for the MA (East Asian Studies).
waiting time (6-8 weeks) is too long for me... but I don't know if it is appropriate to write another email to them and enquire for the result release day. ?

I'm not sure they'll have an answer for you! At least in my field, not every faculty member is solicited to review applications. That said, if your last communication was in October, I think you can definitely check in. Just say you're eager to have news and maybe ask about the projects they're working on at the moment. It's appropriate if you have a nice attitude and treat them like a future colleague :)

CAN PEOPLE JUST REJECT ME ALREADY. I can't deal with this. I emailed McMaster last month and asked their timeline and they responded with "around this month or so". It's March. We're in the "so" territory now ?

Apparently its a McMaster thing ha

I am currently so stressed out that my girlfriend (whos a very chill "everything is going to be alright" kind of person) even offered to email them asking about it.

Heard from UofT MGA today! Accepted! ?

Still waiting to hear from McGill, UBC, and UofT for MA Political Science tho. Good luck everyone!

Hi all! I just got into Simon Fraser and the acceptance letter said to let them know by March 20th. Is this somewhat typical of Canadian schools? The US schools all subscribe to the April 15 decision deadline, and one of them may not even let me know THEIR decision until late March/early April...

Hi, new in this thread.

I will be starting PhD in Linguistics at UBC in fall 20. Is there anybody else who'll be starting at UBC in the same cycle? Would love to connect!

Cheers!

Have been accepted to UBC's PhD program in Linguistics. Now trying to know more about the adequacy of funding, etc. Also trying to connect with other current/upcoming UBC students.

Good luck to people who are waiting :)

Try staying positive! :)

Question: I emailed Mac and was told that "decisions will be released in the next week or so". It's been a week, and now I'm concerned since Mac is closing its campus, they're not going to get back to me. Should I email them again today to ask? Or is that too much.
