Hello! I have recently received acceptances to the Clinical Psychology Psy.D. programs at both Rutgers GSAPP and the PGSP-Stanford Consortium. Both programs have solid APA match rates as well as a great faculty fit. Does anyone have any insight into the culture/opportunities available at both programs? I know that the program at Palo Alto is incredibly expensive, but is there anything about the training there that would make the cost worthwhile?

Thanks in advanced!

Rutgers actually has a much better reputation than PGSP. They bank on the Stanford name to get people to pay the ridiculous tuition. While it does provide good training, it is not superior to Rutgers. Rutgers and Baylor are often considered the top PsyD programs in the country. Also, cost of living in the PGSP area is insanely expensive. Clinical psychologists really don't make enough to justify 6-figure loan debts.

I'm going to have to disagree with your comment on Baylor being one of the top PsyD programs in the country. What are you basing that ranking on? Internships? Percentages of graduates? The school's heavily religious affiliation gives the program a particular reputation among APA professionals.

The APA internship match rates, EPPP pass rates, and small cohorts with guaranteed funding.
