Soccergirl2 Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 Hi! Does anyone know what the consequences are of accepting an offer on April 15th, which is the deadline for almost every school and then later on getting off the waitlist at another school you were hoping for? Can you essentially decommit to a school if you choose to go to the school you were waitlisted at instead?
LazarusRises Posted April 13, 2020 Posted April 13, 2020 If you've put down a deposit, you won't get it back. Otherwise there are no consequences besides ruffling a few feathers on the admissions team, and/or any professors you've contacted at the school you're pulling out of. vxn 1
futurespeechpath1 Posted April 14, 2020 Posted April 14, 2020 Tbh if I get into one of the schools I was waitlisted at I'm most likely going there. I do feel bad but realistically it happens all the time that's why there is a waitlist! So if you decide to go to a program you were originally waitlisted at then the deposit is just a loss and your spot will go to someone who was waitlisted, while you get to go to the school of your dreams futurespeechie96 and SpeechGirl2020 2
