I'm having trouble finding programs for my research ideas. Should I broaden my scope?

Firstly, I apologize if this is in the wrong forum!

I graduated with a bachelor's in anthropology a few years ago. I did an undergraduate thesis on a topic I'd definitely like to expand on in grad school. (It pertains to medical activism - feel free to DM me for details.)

However, I am having a lot of trouble finding graduate programs that fit my interests well. I am currently considering Brown and UC Irvine for anthropology, maybe U of Iowa, but I'm not sure where else to look. I've looked at UC Davis' cultural studies program and Harvard's history of science program too, but I don't know as much about these fields. STS might also fit, but I haven't explored that much yet.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. If you want more specific info on my research interests, please message me. Thank you for reading my post!

Hi, I'm at Rice. Based on the kinda vague description I think Rice might make sense since I had a project that fits with those bounds when I entered. Feel free to DM. I could point you to some other programs if you want to give more details.

Hi purplemix, just wanted to be sure you saw that Brown unfortunately isn't accepting applications this fall.

If your'e interested in biocultural methods/embodiment, a good search term to find profs is "embodied social justice". There are a few people working on it at University of Alabama in the early stages of project development.
