Question

Posted (edited)

I am trying to point out my perspective advisor as an affiliated or courtesy faculty. Is it possible?

Following the documents of CMU (from the document, it says that Examples of affiliated faculty involvement in a department include teaching of classes, participation in research projects, and supervision of students.), it seems that it's okay, but if the state of the faculty in the dept. is "affiliated" or "courtesy", then usually students from the dept. are co-advised with other "core" faculty of the dept.

I've sent this question to CMU, and I'm waiting for the reply. But, I guess it would require much time :( so, I ask this one here.
