So far, I've gotten a rejection email from Western and Queens. Anyone get anything from guelph, waterloo, or mac yet? I got an unofficial acceptance from Guelph last Thursday, applied to Waterloo as well but haven’t heard back yet StrawberriesNcream98 1

Congrats to everyone who got in and are accepting their offers. Congrats! I know some people who will be turning down Brock! So fingers crossed! Did you have the biostatistics and epidemiology requirements?
deleted1959 Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 (edited) Also waitlisted to western! I applied on the last day and it says that they adopted a rolling admissions process. Does this mean they may not have read my application in full? I wish I knew it was a rolling basis before I paid! Anyone else feeling this way? Edit: I applied on the second last day Edited April 4, 2022 by jcat2222 mootpoint 1

I probably won't wait on them anymore since I've accepted my offer from Queen's for now but I was hoping to get in to Western. I've applied to other programs in Ontario as well and I'm waiting to hear back from those. Their tuition is the highest and it's not OSAP approved either ? Can I ask why you prefer Western over Queens? I've accepted Queen's offer over Western, mostly because the difference in the cost of tuition practically covers living expenses. Also aren't all professional programs (i.e., non-thesis based) ineligible for OSAP? Or can you get OSAP if you go to another MPH program?

I applied on the last day for Western as well, but received an offer of admission. I think the rolling admissions process means if after first round they still need more students for their 60 person cohort, then they will send out subsequent rounds of offers to candidates on their wait list. Good luck on getting in, I will likely be declining my offer there so a spot should open up for someone! Edited April 4, 2022 by Lean yeetus_deletus 1
waitlistcanary Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Anyone who has an offer for SFU....if you could decline, that would be great :') I'm number 1 on the waitlist and SFU was the only school I applied to!!! My main reason was because it's a 1-year program (and I'm currently doing a graduate diploma at Western - so easier transition I guess). I haven't done the calculations for what the overall living expenses would be for Queen's vs Western but that's a good point that Western's tuition is a lot more expensive and I think that would be my only reason not to choose Western. Also, I'm not too sure about the OSAP funding for other programs, if anyone else knows - please chime in! Lean 1

TBH, the administrative staffs replying to our inquiries are very unprofessional. Sometimes I felt they had minimum ideas of what's going on. Every time I asked a simple question it took them one or two whole weeks to reply... And they sound like they are tired of their jobs.. However, I believe u still have a high chance to get in cuz it seems like they r rolling offers, and it seems like only 5 to 6 ppl got the offer since the course planning website indicates there are only 5 or 6 students enrolled in the biostats course. Good luck!

We received 418 applications for 44 places so competition is tough and there will be more rejections than offers. We are currently reviewing a middle group of applicants in a second round of reviews so those decisions will come out mid-April or later. What do you they mean by middle group of applicants? high chance that they send out offers as they review applicants. They do not review all applicants and send offers at once.
mootpoint Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 I just got waitlisted to Western's MPH. I also applied on the last day of the deadline. Fingers crossed a spot opens up! Congratulations to everyone accepted!
BioStatsNerd Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Does anyone receive responses of MSc Biostats from Western yet?
greenflower Posted April 4, 2022 Posted April 4, 2022 Incase anyone was wondering, I emailed McMaster and they said "Admission decisions are released late March/early April. We hope to have all updated emails sent out this week". So hopefully we should hear from them this week! Lean, StrawberriesNcream98 and GB22 3
