Greetings everyone! I applied to the PhD in engineering at Purdue University. I recently received an invitation for their Virtual Visitation Day. I am very excited and honored, but still have a few questions about what "the Visitation" offer means.

a) Is it just another round of interviews? OR

b) Are they just testing their pool of applicants before they make their final decisions? OR

c) Is this some sort of an informal offer?

-------------------

In addition, I have a few questions in regards to these Visitation Days.

1) How should I prepare for my 1:1 chats with potential advisors? They told me these will be informal chatting sessions and NOT formal interview sessions.

2) What kind of questions should I ask potential advisors?

3) What kind of questions should I ask their current PhD students?

4) Any kind words of guidance would be appreciated! This is my first visitation day event. (eg: Do's and Don'ts)

Thank you so much for time and help!
