♀HealthMatters
I only know of Brandeis, but if you are open to international schools and are interested in American history as I am, perhaps you should consider The University of Edinburgh. Here is the list of history degrees
a piece of bread
I only know of Brandeis, but if you are open to international schools and are interested in American history as I am, perhaps you should consider The University of Edinburgh. Here is the list of history degrees Actually almost all programs in England and some other European countries are one-year. To McEuroboy, if you are interested in European and Middle Eastern english-speaking grad schools, think of CEU (Hungary), Leiden (Holland), Leuven (Belgium), Amsterdam, American U of Beirut, American U of Cairo and of course many British schools. If you insist on doing your MA in the States , then be aware that Indiana U (Blo.) has also one-year MA programs.
Katzenmusik
I believe Yale offers a 1-year MA in American Studies, if you're interested in that!
Emerson
I think Chicago does as well, at least in the Divinity School which has several history-focused programs. I second the recommendation for an international school's 1 year PhD. It is a great way to bolster your vita, give you more experience, and better prepare you for the PhD scene while you get to enjoy living abroad. I just did a program in Edinburgh, and it was beyond amazing (both in a scholarly and personal sense).

BadgerHopeful
I believe that Brown, Penn, and Yale all have terminal MA programs in History. Someone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

hg1
Many Canadian universities offer one-year MAs. Here it's the norm to do an MA before your PhD, so virtually every school offers it.
