Hi! I got rejected by UT Austin Asian Studies MA last Wednesday. They didn't really send out any notifying email (same thing with Yale EAS), I just happened to check the portal and saw the rejection. Best of luck!

I applied to the PhD program and my portal still states that the "file is under review"

Hi, guys! Just writing to inform you that  yesterday I have received my rejection from Upenn. Now, all my results are out and nothing is left. If all works well..I will be joining CU Boulder on Fall 2023. If anyone else here is also going to Boulder, please let me know because I would love to get in touch with you. Thanks to all of you for helping me to get through all these months of waiting without freaking out!! Wishing luck to all of you!!!

Congratulations, that is a wonderful program (the MA?) and funded too! You should be very happy, and this will be a great stepping stone to a PhD program.

I'm still waiting for UW (Seattle) and if I get in, I will have to make a decision between UW and CU Boulder. I like both places, but they both come with advantages and disadvantages. I would love to get in touch either way. So close to the end at this point, but still feels like a hot mess.

Thanks for sharing~ it seems U of T still doesn't start to release results this year, hasn't seen any A/R info. It is kind of weird because U of T usually sends out admission letters in the first week of March in previous years but probably for admission there are just no fixed patterns. Hopefully, Duke's result would come out as usual (which should be this week) cuz that's my favorite program 🙏🏻. Good luck to everyone who's still waiting.

Hi everyone! I'm glad to find this thread and want to share the news I got. I'm doing a gap year after college and I applied to both MAs and PHDs--mostly in EALC but also some Comp Lit.

So far I got MA offers from UPenn, UChicago (MAPH), UMichigan (MIRS), UIUC and Rutgers. Aside from that, I got rejections from Berkeley, Stanford, Princeton, Dartmouth (CL), Yale, and Harvard's MA and PHD rejections from UChicago, UMichigan, UPenn and Duke.

I also applied to PHD programs at Columbia (which is my dream school) and UCLA (not EALC but CompLit) as well as MAs at NYU, Duke and Penn State. I haven't heard from any of them. (And yes, I applied to nearly 20 programs; the number is directly proportional to my anxiety.)

@db757 If you mean the Ph.D. program in EAS at UC Irvine, I believe the decisions were made two weeks ago! My POI informed me by email that I was waitlisted, and they can only make one offer in Chinese studies! I am not sure about the other areas of specialization, but as far as I know, all shortlisted candidates (some 10 of them) were interviewed. My interview happened a month ago.

(There is probably no need to wait in my case because I got in touch with the admitted student and she said she would very likely commit. She works on Chinese film and I on Chinese literature.)

Excuse me, does anyone know if there are any results yet for the UPenn EALC MA or Columbia EALAC?Additionally, I've heard that UCLA and IUB have already issued offers for their MA programs, but I haven't heard back yet. Do I still have a chance for admission to these two programs?

If anyone is waiting for UW decisions, I asked today and they said they expect them to be sent by the end of this week or possibly early next week.
