Oedekerk Posted November 26, 2010 Posted November 26, 2010 I'm applying to 2 MA programs for Publishing, and both ask similar questions and have similar requirements for the SOP and the programs themselves are very similar (that's why I'm applying to both!). Obviously they're not going to be carbon copies of each other, but is it normal to use a similar template for each SOP? I'm mainly asking this in regards to the professors I've picked to write my letters of recommendation as they'll see both SOPs, will they care think less of me? Thanks!

I think it's very common to use the same template for different schools. People normally change only a "fit" paragraph, adjusting it to each program. So there is no way your professors can think bad of you for using the same template for similar programs.
