sputnik Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 If you're like me, you probably have already submitted some applications and have a few yet to go out. Just wanted to wish everyone well and find out how you plan to kill the time between applying and finding out. I'm sure its going to make me crazy!
Strangefox Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 (edited) Just wanted to wish everyone well and find out how you plan to kill the time between applying and finding out. Thank you! Good luck to you too! I am going to prepare a bit for interviews which I very much hope to get, then I will write an article I have been asked to write and I will concentrate more on learning languages, which is my hobby! In short, I will have enough things to do while I am waiting for results. Edited December 21, 2010 by Strangefox
emmm Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 I have loads of things I could be doing now as well (and some of them I AM actually doing!), but it doesn't seem to be keeping my mind off the waiting very effectively. I didn't expect to be so impatient. I had some crazy vision of myself relaxing and forgetting about my applications for a while once they were all finally submitted -- WRONG!
sputnik Posted December 22, 2010 Author Posted December 22, 2010 I am trying to keep busy by working on my thesis and an unfinished project. I've submitted papers to 2 conferences and some journals, but that just made me realize that now I'm waiting for even more things. Everything is waiting right now! LOL I am hoping to take the energy from all these nerves and get a lot of work accomplished over break. I'll let you know how that goes! Strangefox, what languages are you studying?
Strangefox Posted December 22, 2010 Posted December 22, 2010 ...but that just made me realize that now I'm waiting for even more things. Strangefox, what languages are you studying? Spanish, German and French. I can already speak Spanish pretty well and I can keep a not too sophisticated conversation in German and French but I keep studying because my goal is fluency in all three of them.
