pinot noir Posted January 2, 2011 Posted January 2, 2011 so, I don't know if anyone can help me with this, but I just submitted to Columbia MFA for writing and to my chagrin, I realized that I accidently submitted my writing sample in place of my personal statement due to the fact that I don't have adobe acrobat reader. I have sent an email and left a message. thier website says to contact admissions officer to correct errors. does this mean that they will fix it for me? should I worry too much about this? thanks.

Was there a place to upload both documents and you just switched them? If so, I don't think it's a big deal at all. The email should be fine.

Yes, you should not worry too much about that. Wait for a reply. If there will be none, call them. Also, how have you submitted SOP eventually or you have not? Good luck!
eklavya Posted January 3, 2011 Posted January 3, 2011 does this mean that they will fix it for me? should I worry too much about this? most likely they will. worry not, it'll be taken care of. these things happen.
pinot noir Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 Thanks guys! I just got in contact with the admissions officer and was able to fix it. I'm just beating myself up because it seems so unprofessional, "Yeah, I'm applying to a professional program and I can't even upload the damn document correctly!" Oh well, these things happen. I'm sure it's not the worst they've seen...
pinot noir Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 !? a little confused with your question. they don't reequire and SoP, just a personal statement. It was not submitted at all. in place was my writing sample, but it's all getting fixed now Yes, you should not worry too much about that. Wait for a reply. If there will be none, call them. Strangefox Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 !? a little confused with your question I asked because personal statement and statement of purpose are often the same thing, as far as I know
pinot noir Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 I asked because personal statement and statement of purpose are often the same thing, as far as I know Not in California they require a personal history statement along with a statement of purpose. a lot of copy and pasting in this application process to satisfy everyone's questions about why I want to attend graduate school.
Strangefox Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 they require a personal history statement So is it like your biography or something?
