That is, the difficulty of the next question presented depends on the difficulty of the questions you previously answered, and whether you answered them correctly or incorrectly. Honestly, I would just take the PowerPrep tests twice: once when you've just started preparing for the GRE (maybe 2-3 weeks before the test) and the second time a few days before the GRE.
