2024 Neuroscience PhD Applicants and Admissions Results

Has anyone not heard back from northwestern either way? I saw some people got rejected and some people received interviews last night but I havent gotten anything from them and theres nothing on my portal so I'm very confused

I have not heard from them either, but I am assuming it is a silent rejection.

For which primary field of interest did you apply? It seems like some years the interviews for the different fields are sent out at different times. I applied for systems neuro

Yeah I received official interview invite from NYU C&P program and rejection from CSHL

Yes I know that CNUP has invited someone for interview. No, I don't believe or have ever seen US inviting international applicants at a different time. Administratively, it doesn't make a lot of sense to do so: the committee decides who they want to interview and it's easiest to give only one set of names to administrators who correspond with applicants to book flights and such.

To answer your second question, yeah for US schools especially in biomedical sciences like neuro, they tend to come out around those months. I would even argue it's more like December/January for invites. Out of the schools I personally applied to, there are only two schools that have not sent out invites yet. It's also because a lot of the interviews tend to be in January/February so they would need to inform interviewees well in advance (especially if it's in-person)

Just reporting that I was notified of an interview by University College London's Institute of Cognitive Neuroscience on December 18th. Interviewed in mid January and was admitted a few days later.

Got a direct-admit style invite on 1/19! Wondering if the program is extending the option for an invite without direct-admit process; I'll keep u posted if u want

Does anyone know what kind of admissions procedure George Mason uses for applicants to their MS in biology program? I've looked everywhere I can think on the website but nothing tells me anything about when I might hear back about this coming fall (2024). The deadline isn't until April 15th or something which seems really late and makes me think they might do rolling or something. The George Mason website for graduate stuff is pretty frustrating to navigate in general, I've found, so it's entirely possible I missed something. 
Also, I did not get accepted into their neuro phd program. They advised in my rejection letter to apply for the MS in biology concentration in neuroscience instead. They waived the application fee which was good because I can't afford to spend another $75 on a potentially wasted application right now.
