drunk Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 A prof. with whom i was in touch with for my application at a top 20 university that I had applied to emailed me asking my phone number and the time zone that I am in. Does it mean an interview ? or some data verification stuff? Do prof.'s explicitly mention "interview" ?
Strangefox Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 A prof. with whom i was in touch with for my application at a top 20 university that I had applied to emailed me asking my phone number and the time zone that I am in. Does it mean an interview ? or some data verification stuff? Do prof.'s explicitly mention "interview" ? It definetely seems like an interview. It's weird, though... So the prof didn't write: "I would like to talk with you about your application" and "What is the best time to call you"?? They do not mention "interview" but they normally ask those things.
drunk Posted January 25, 2011 Author Posted January 25, 2011 No, He just asked for phone number and my time zone. The email contains nothing else.
newms Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Just make sure you're prepared for a phone call. Seems like he wants to interview you.
Strangefox Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 Yes, definetely be prepared to answer and ask questions, but if he calls you in a bad time, don't be afraid to say that. If you can't talk, it won't be your fault.
Langoustine Posted January 25, 2011 Posted January 25, 2011 I would def say this is probably to prepare for a phone interview. Though a very curt message.
