Hi,

I have applied for the DPhil (PhD) in Public Policy this 2024 cycle at the Blavatnik School of Government in Oxford University. Does anyone have any prior experience on the expected timeline they work with? Their website says 8-10 weeks after submitting the application, but I know this approximation changes depending on the amount of applicants. Around what week in which and in which month should we expect them to contact candidates for scheduling interviews? What week in March do they usually send out offers or rejections? If rejected, do candidates receive an earlier email (around January or February) or are all decisions (including acceptance offers) emailed the same day? Would appreciate any guidance!

Best of luck to all applying this cycle.

I applied to the same cycle and haven’t heard back. The website vaguely talks about the interviews being called for (or held Idk) in early March, and the decisions to be sent out in late March. I was looking at another post from someone who said their interview was on 28th Feb. in 2022. I’ve almost lost hope ngl 😔 It was my top priority PhD program

Well it's still early March, don't lose hope yet! In a 3-year average they received around ~137 applicants for full-time and ~29 for part-time, maybe it takes a longer time to interview from both groups. Also, I submitted my application on the day of the deadline, perhaps they're going by order of who submitted earlier. BSG is my #1 preference too, I'm holding out hope we'll hear something this 1st week of March.

If anyone else has heard something back please feel free to share in this forum! Wishing you all the best.

Hi all,

I received my rejection email today at around 8:00 PM GMT. For future reference of other applicants: the interviews are more than likely held the last week of February and the first week of March. If you are not contacted at all from the program/admissions team, you are likely to receive a rejection letter.

I can't lie, this is unfortunate and hurtful news. But I won't let this deter me from continuing to apply and gain more experiences to become an ideal candidate.

If anyone else has any insights into the admissions process or had the opportunity to be interviewed, please share in this forum for the benefit of future applicants! Pave the way and hold the door open for others to follow.

Wishing all of you the best.
