I went here for undergrad and left 2023, but I did also apply for their Fiction MFA. But that's obviously not "four years". I'm assuming this is just a very odd, ill-timed false flag, because I haven't heard anything from UH otherwise, and the portal isn't showing anything new. Any thoughts?

Plot thickens: someone else just entered an acceptance for UH Fiction citing this same email...this is so bizarre.

that entry was me LOL. did i jump the gun??? surely it wasn't a mistake? i don't even know what to think but i'm sure it's the same hypothesis as the other comment...right?

Hey, trust me - I badly want to believe it and celebrate! I just think it's strange to find out this way and it doesn't feel "official" yet, so I'm looking for clarity before I get my hopes fully up. Glad I'm not alone, either way!

Re your edit about federal government: Supreme Court struck that down this past week..so if it's NIH related Colombia won't lose federal funding. So send the email! 🌻

one of my programs sent me an email basically saying I got the Job with the Writing Program before I'd even received an acceptance from the MFA department / before my portal changed - it was hours until the MFA followed up with an acceptance & my portal still said "under department review" - it's like they don't even talk to each other?

I feel the same way :'). the "four years" part really threw me off, but i am oh-so-hopeful. praying for the both of us!! ❤️

Regarding UCI fiction. There maybe hope. The cohort is not firm, nor complete. Please understand I cannot really push for information but as I learn anything relevant and firm, I will let you know. 
I do think a great many rejections have now been decided. Whether they are sending them out, or even have sent them out is unknown to me.
Know I'm stressing with you.

I have made peace with not getting accepted to Brown and am moving on with my day by enjoying the animatronics at Stew Leonard's. Their songs of fruit and eggs soothe my wounded spirit.

With UVA acceptances reported I think that wraps up my MFA season. I had a good run. Thanks everyone for being so kind and supportive through this ordeal.

(I know my "real" rejections are forthcoming but I think its super unlikely at this point.)

I think UVA waitlists usually come 1 day later so that could still happen!
