After completely giving up this cycle (got into columbia but it was literally Completely Unfunded so impossible) because of soft rs and previous rs, I got the call for Iowa for poetry. NEVER LOSE HOPE, CHAT.

In terms of UF-- I went to UF for undergrad and know one of the people who work in deciding all that. They have a later  due date for applications and it took them a while to actually get through them because of scheduling nonsense or something.

As for Iowa, I have no clue. I'd for sure thought it was Over.

I still haven't heard from Rutgers Camden, UVA or UH yet though. Looks like a late year in general. I wouldn't be surprised if it has to do with the bureaucracies of all these schools going Insane because of funding questions. Even mfas who don't have much to worry about in terms of funding are probably still subject to more nonsense. If not that, then maybe it's just an extra busy year....

Oh I meant why so late at night. It was after midnight EST when you posted which would be 11pm Iowa time. And it’s a Sunday! This is all assuming you posted soon-ish after the call so maybe they called much earlier

Yeah sure! Accepted to the following schools (in no particular order): Michigan, WashU, NYU, Columbia, University of Florida, Bowling Green, New Hampshire, University of British Columbia (Canadian school)

waitlists: Virginia Tech, NC State (I applied to these two a bit last minute so I see my waitlists here as super impressive)

rejections: Northwestern Litowitz, Wisconsin, Cornell, and U of Toronto (the last one is an MA program in Canada and I think they had issues with my prerequisites because I attended undergrad in the USA)

Teach me your ways Sensei 🙏

But seriously well done you!!!! This is incredible!!!

Congratulations on the iowa acceptances yall!!!!!!! @pearadox @curfew That's so incredible!!!!!! ❤️❤️ I realized my first sleepy congrats last night did Not convey enough hype for what is a huge achievement!

This is the week I think. At least for Wyoming, they say that they send out all notifs out by March 15th so this is their week.

This is also personally the week when I (and other admits) should hear back about funding for CSU and I literally had a dream last where all the top applicants had to submit their portfolio in video form and one person did funny tiktoks and I was like "oh nooo, my monologue isn't funny at all" and it was terrible and silly lol

Here's to hoping for more good news today and this week generally!! Also, an unexpected bonus if I don't get funding at CSU and go to NAU: no more daylight savings nonsense.

Only schools I am still waiting to hear from are NMU and UVA. Looks like there is a UVA acceptance reported on Draft, but considering how many waitlists I'm on, another one would come as no surprise 🥲. I don't think NMU ever notifies later than mid-March. Ready to just know where I'm at for all of these schools so that Uncertainty Round II can begin as we all play the  waitlist shuffle.

Also, if you're on the WVU waitlist and were wondering, I found out that it IS ranked, though they didn't tell me how long the list is.

Good morning, I'm wondering if anyone has advice for when to send a follow up email to schools where I'm waitlisted? I did send a thank you email right after being places on the waitlist to express my gratitude and excitement, but that was over a month ago now. When is it reasonable to follow-up without being a pest, and how should I ask the question, "What are my chances of getting in?" but in a polite way? Thanks!
