Mandy Williams
I am the graduate coordinator and a faculty member in the SLP graduate program at the University of South Dakota. I am encouraging people to consider applying to our Spring admission cohort. The deadline to be part of USDs SLP spring 2025 cohort is September 15. We admit a total of 10 students to our spring cohort each year, and the application pool is typically much smaller than the total applications we get for the Fall cohort. In the fall we accept 15 students. For the 10 students we admit into the spring cohort there is typically a higher likelihood of acceptance for the spring admission cycle because there are fewer applicants. The SLP program at the University of South Dakota has two admission cohorts per academic year. Here are a few videos that show some of our graduate students and our clinic. You can see our facility and hear them talk about why they chose USD. A large portion of our students apply for and receive graduate assistantships throughout the campus which also helps bring down the costs. If you do decide to apply to USD be sure to complete the application University Application in addition to CSDCAS and when you complete the USD application be sure to check that you are interested in a graduate assistant position and click that you are open to positions outside your department. USD staffs many offices and programs around campus with graduate assistants. Last year around 80% of the students in our programs while they were in the on-campus phase of their training had a graduate assistantship. Please let me know if you have any questions about USD as you decide which programs you want to send your application to. You can email me at mandy.j.williams@usd.edu if you have any questions about our Spring or Fall cohorts. Jim VK
