Esteban Ortiz
Hello, My name is Esteban Ortiz and I am a clinical psychology graduate student at Duke University. To broaden the pool of applicants in psychology PhD programs across the country, Duke University's Department of Psychology & Neuroscience is holding our 5th Annual Virtual Office Hours Program. All are welcome. BIPOC, first-generation, low-income, and LGBTQIA+ applicants are encouraged to sign up. Between November 4th and 15th applicants to the program will receive individualized feedback (via one-on-one Zoom meetings) on their application materials (personal, research, and/or diversity statements + CV) from faculty, post-docs, clinical interns, and graduate students at Duke. They will also have the opportunity to ask questions about the graduate school application process. We run this program late in the Fall so applicants can receive feedback on how their near-final drafts might come across to admissions panels and receive feedback. This program is not intended as a brainstorming, or statement-building session. You DO NOT have to be applying to one of Duke's PhD programs. This is a resource for ANYONE applying to ANY psychology PhD program in the United States. The submission form can be accessed via the following flyer: https://tinyurl.com/yvkxzck8 Or through this link: https://forms.gle/WqSZUqYYJtjkpv6dA Please consider sending those to anyone who might be interested, or to other mentors and colleagues who could spread the word!
