Today I found out I was accepted to Syracuse University (Maxwell School) with funding as a GA. A huge sigh of relief, my first acceptance. Has anyone else heard word?

Also in at Harvard. Yay. The plot thickens . . .

Hell yeah you're in at Harvard! Congrats!!!

Out of curiosity, what is it that you want to do anyway, socme? What are your research interests?

Edit:

Incidentally, I think you may be able to make a lot of money helping people write their grad school apps. You clearly kick ass at it.

Just got an acceptance to Harvard! Into Chicago yesterday after two official and two unofficial rejections. So happy! All the waiting has been killing me!

Got into McGill. The (incredibly friendly) grad director has the most hardcore name ever -- Dr. Axel Van den Berg.

Congrats! Who are your POI?

I just got into Yale! Joint-degree. They had some mixup with my documentation so this was a shocker. And it means I got in everywhere . . . these people are crazy! Yale has a relatively very high living stipend and extremely good health insurance. Is it bad that this was the first thing that came to mind? ;)

Congrats! What are your interests? I think Princeton, Harvard and Yale will have comparable stipends (but DO check the fine print, you have typically have to do less teaching and research assisting at pton to get that stipend than at most other places, so double check it vis a vis harvard and yale). good luck deciding!

THANKS! I honestly cannot believe how lucky I've been. My stuff is really not all that tight but I'm happy to have confused some adcomms. ;) You have a point with this grad school app help business thing! I am broke and your idea actually sounds like a pretty lucrative side-hustle.

My goal is to research and write about the impacts of both specific anti-poverty policy and laws that disproportionately impact poor people on low-income communities. Both quant and qual.

Ahh, very good point on the TAing/RAing. I need to check into that.

I have been waiting on them too- Did they send you a letter or an email?

I received an automated e-mail saying that a decision had been made and to check the online application... the acceptance was posted there. Following that, I received an e-mail from the department. Best of luck, hope you get some good news!

In at Rice. Literally just got back from the interview weekend and checked my e-mail. Sounds like they are working hard to make it a really strong program. It's new (which is risky) but the faculty seem extremely eager to mentor and publish a ton with students. Also a really nice funding package: 27k for five years and only RAships. No TAs. Decisions, decisions.
