WashU AM Statistics vs Rice MStat

I was accepted into the programs in the title and am trying to make a decision between them. I would appreciate any advice you all can provide, especially as pertains Rice and the opportunities in Houston. For context, I am from St. Louis and currently studying data science at WashU. I am interested in working in industry after completing either degree. These are some of the main benefits of both programs that I have identified:  

 

WashU (accelerated master's program):

- Finish the degree in one year (matriculating in with 15 credits, only need 21 more for the master's)

- Total costs ~30-40k+ cheaper than Rice (no rent, 1 full-time semester and 1 part-time semester, few living expenses; would be able to afford the total cost w/o loans)

- Relatively rigorous program and renowned in the midwest (where, ideally, I would work after graduation)

 

Rice (professional master's in statistics):

- Can possibly complete the degree in 1.5 years (2 full-time semesters and 1 part-time semester)

- Perceive the school's engineering/statistics department as better reputed/more rigorous

- More sports analytics curriculum and related student group opportunities (the industry in which I want to work post-grad)

- Opportunity to live on my own for the first time

- Increased networking opportunities (Houston is the 4th biggest city in the country)

 

Long story short, I'm grappling with whether it's worth paying tens of thousands of additional $ (and taking out loans) for what is, at least as I currently perceive it, a marginal increase in program rigor/reputation, more resources for my ideal post-grad industry, and the experience of living on my own. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have insights that could help me make this decision? I would greatly appreciate it!
