SSHRC Doctoral 2025 2026

Hi! I am a first-time applicant for the SSHRC and this process is hell! Today, my application has disappeared from the SSHRC portal. The portal reads "nothing to display". A friend who applied is also having the same issue. Is anyone else waiting impatiently for the next month? Let's commiserate together!

Thanks for making this thread. I think it's normal for the application to disappear at this stage. Mine is gone too.

The wait has been killing me. Hopefully they aren't delayed like last year.

Mine reads "nothing to display" as well so I am guessing it is like that across the board.

I know we're expecting to wait a few more weeks for results but unless this is from a different competition (or a very late waitlisted recipient from last year's competition), it looks like at least one person has heard the news already? https://www.uwindsor.ca/dailynews/full-issue/2025-04-04

Yes! I am so impatient and check my emails at least 3 times a day... lol It's suuuuuch a long wait!

I know that SSHRC's CGS-D page says the results will be announced "April 30". The doctoral fellowships that don't necessarily run for 36 months say "mid-April". So, I'm thinking this is either old news that Windsor is advertising late, or one of the other SSHRC awards that is not 40k for 36 months.

I also think this is old news that just took a while for their comms team to draft and post. I did however read in another forum that someone got results for NSERC CGS-D yesterday. Maybe the results will come out on a rolling basis? I won't hold my breath though. April 30 seems more likely

Hey Everyone, 

This is my second year applying (wasn't successful last year) and so here are some thoughts...

1. It's normal for the application to disappear. It means they are processing things on the back end. 

2. Don't count on that April 30th date or even end of April. System problems notoriously happened and we didn't find out last year until the first few days in May. 

3. Also not everyone will find out at once if they do the same thing as last year. They notified people in two batches 24 hours apart so they wouldn't crash their system (which happened the year before). This was alphabetical order and wasn't indicative of whether you were successful or not.

Considering that some NSERC applicants received their results last week, is there hope for an earlier release date?

I doubt it. They usually receive their results first and year on year when you look back at previous chats they always release the Doctoral awards on the last day of April or even later because of system problems. So I would just prepare you mind for that and if we find out sooner then it's a pleasant surprise..

For those who have applied before, do you know if the results will be uploaded on the same SSHRC extranet as last year? When I log in, I see the CGSD file but when I click, there are no zip files. I’m wondering if the letter will be in that same folder or if we will be prompted to make a new extranet account this year. Last year, while we didn’t get the link to make an account until April 30th/May 1, the letters were uploaded on the portal 5 or so days before.

I'm not sure. I just logged on to my extranet account and I don't have anything listed there (from this year or last year). I didn't even realize that they uploaded it about 5 days before last year. 

 

That said, they do have maintenance on May 1st. So hopefully, the results are actually out before then... and we don't have an awkward situation where half the applicants get their results and the half doesn't due to maintenance, ha.

This is likely a winner from last year's competition. SSHRC doesn't announce the winners of a year until the following year (so 2024 award winners won't be announced until 2025, etc.) and I believe schools aren't allowed to post about them until the recipients list has been made public.

It should be normal when apps are in review. Results should be out by early May, maybe...

So I checked my extranet portal (same one as last year), and it shows CGS-Doc 2 as a link to see my results, but when I click it there are no results. Does anyone know what this might mean?

Probably just means that they haven't uploaded your results to the portal yet. Or the result has been uploaded but is hidden until they uniformly release everybody's results (hopefully but not guaranteed) on April 30. I wouldn't worry about it too much!

I'm confused what is the "Extranet for Applications?" Is that the "Research Portal?" It says my UN/PW is not recognized. I can't believe that they don't provide a hyperlink for (via the SSHRC Extranet for Applicants).

If this is your first time, SSHRC will send you an email with a link that will provide you with your login info.

When i logged into my old extranet account from last year, it said error yesterday. Today it made me create a new password and then there just weren't any docs there. But I think it just means they are getting every thing ready and hopefully tomorrow we will hear.

Last year they did two batch releases based on last name. Sounds like they are going one letter at a time this year? It ended up taking two days last year for all the results to get out. I'm L and no results yet. Fingers cross everyone and congrats AB2222

Last year they announced at like 3pm on April 30th that it was split between two days - hopefully this year they can get it all in one! Congrats to all who have been successful so far today!!
