NSF DDRIG - Cultural Anthropology (January 2025)

Hey everyone,
Just wondering if anyone has heard any updates from the NSF Cultural Anthropology DDRIG for the January 2025 cycle? Given everything going on lately, I imagine there could be some significant delays, but I wanted to check in here and see if anyone’s status has changed or if you've received any news. Mine has been stuck at “pending” with no updates since the deadline.

Nothing yet, still pending with no updates. A faculty member in my department was on a review panel on April 10. It seems we're on a similar timeline as last year, but that's probably wishful thinking.

Thank you for letting me know! It is indeed very stressful waiting process given there is no exact timeline of the announcements. Good luck to you!

i have my status update yesterday, 28th April. This is my second time applying...was rated competitive last year...It is generally not a good indication if your update status changes in late April. Maybe the panel met and gave decision already. 

 

If your status is still pending from the date of submission and u haven't heard anything....that's the best combo...but it might depend...just sharing my own experience from last year....

 

those who received in 2024 cycle, had no posting and they got their acceptance mid-May. Good luck!

My status update date says 4/23 but the status is still pending. Not sure what that means.

Mine is also still pending, and the status hasn't changed—it still shows the same date as when I applied. I'm checking it on Research.gov. That might be the reason, but honestly, I do not really know. Good luck to everyone!

Lets hope for the best! Perhaps there is no single way to know. Last year, people whose status got changed in May, heard about their rejection the next day. Those who won got approval email later. If your status is pending from the date of submission, that was the most safest status :-). Anxious but also not so hopeful this time around esp with proposals having DEI related broader impacts. Not a good time for cultural Anthropology I guess. Anyways, good luck!

Still pending here too—no changes in my status or the status date (still shows the original submission date). Curious to hear from those whose status dates have changed—have any of you received updates or decisions yet?

My status date got updated today, yet the 'status' is still pending. It was in its original 1/17/2025 before. Will post about this change meaning in a few days. Best of luck to everyone!

My project status was updated today. It was declined and felt under the 'competitive' level. I got very good, very good, and good rates. Best of luck to folks around here!

My status got updated from the original 1/17 to 6/6. I will post about what the change means when I hear back. Good luck, everyone!

My status was updated. It was declined. I got Excellent, Excellent and Very Good. The panel review was "Competitive-High Priority". There are no weaknesses and major criticisms in reviews including the panel review. Technically, I cant go beyond those scores and it didn't work. Anyways, good luck to all waiting!

This is nuts! Is your project related to a sensitive topic, such as climate change, gender studies, or race? Otherwise, it makes no sense you weren't recommended for funding!
