beelz Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Ok, so I need to write a separate SOP for my assistantship application. They want me to "outline [my] qualifications and goals for an assistantship." Pardon my ignorance, but this sounds very similar for the SOP I wrote for admission to the program. What should I write to make it sound different? Again, sorry if I sound stupid.
the once and future grad Posted February 4, 2011 Posted February 4, 2011 Is it a teaching assistantship? Maybe they want you to focus more on your teaching style/pedagogy? Or other skills directly related to the (teaching/research/publishing) duties that would come with the assistantship, rather than on your own research like an SoP. rising_star 1
beelz Posted February 4, 2011 Author Posted February 4, 2011 (edited) It's the latter. The website says graduate assistants perform editorial or administrative duties in support of the English Department and its publications and programs, or assist in faculty research. So I guess I'm stuck on goals for an assistantship (besides funding). Thanks! Edited February 4, 2011 by beelz
