♀HealthMatters Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 Been lurking here for a while, but I wanted to join in the madness. Hehe. But hello! I am a first-timer, but I was also accepted into LSU (MA) the last week of January, but it's been radio silence since. LSU was my safety school, but every once in a while I feel like it's gonna be the best and/or only option. At least I have one, but I'm going nutzo waiting for the rest. I understand. Waiting is so hard. I found out about Tennessee which is ranked lower, but money (and overall fit) talk. We'll see. I was told last week when I was accepted that funding information will me e-mailed first week of March. What were you told?

I was told last week when I was accepted that funding information will me e-mailed first week of March. What were you told? I was told March. Also, I have a question about your decision letter. Mine said something like "Test Scores InComplete" after the line about my final transcript. I emailed them about it but no one has gotten back to me about it. The PAWS status check had my GRE test scores so I have no clue what this is talking about. Does yours have the same line?
Melissa33 Posted February 15, 2011 Posted February 15, 2011 I was accepted last week from LSU, but I still have 13 apps (all MA, except for Temple) with unknown outcomes. As someone in the LSU system, be aware of funding and political issues at LSU. I don't want to rain on your parade but Jindal is making a mess of the LSU system, forcing professors out, programs cut, and loss of assistantships across the board. Keep your eyes open on those other applications before you totally give in to LSU while the rest of us are running away with fistfuls of hair!
nervousnelly Posted February 16, 2011 Author Posted February 16, 2011 Okay... So, I still have applications outstanding at 6 top schools, and haven't heard a peep from them. I see that some of them have sent out acceptances. I'm trying to be optimistic, but I am starting to think that I'm just going to hear nothing until the end of March, whereupon I will receive a flood of rejection letters. Is it really over so fast, or do some of them stagger acceptances?

It's really frustrating, especially since two of my recommenders contacted me yesterday, wanting to know if I'd heard back from any schools.

It's really frustrating, especially since two of my recommenders contacted me yesterday, wanting to know if I'd heard back from any schools. Really? When I contacted one of my LOR writers about my rejections, she said that she was really surprised that I had heard so early. I think any date before her university sends out decisions is early!

I believe the Middle Eastern history committee here at OSU (where I am for my undergrad) already sent out decisions, so I'm not surprised they expect me to have some responses as well.

By 'decisions' do you mean acceptances or acceptances and rejections? That's my field but I haven't heard anything from Ohio State.

Actually, I don't know if they have sent out all of their acceptances/rejections yet. If you haven't heard, then they probably haven't. I know they sent out some acceptances in the beginning of the month, but I guess they are going to send out the rest in another batch later. I hope you hear soon! It's a great department. Who do you want to work with?
Contate Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 If it's any help, the only schools I have received official letters from (by email) are Princeton, Yale and Stanford. I have either not heard from other schools or been admitted informally with a phone call.
Fanonian Posted February 24, 2011 Posted February 24, 2011 Does anyone know what the word is on Michigan? I've seen a few folks listing acceptances but I haven't heard a word.
