Leavinmyheartinsf Posted April 9, 2008 Posted April 9, 2008 Well, it's finally sinking in. After a long, arduous battle with myself I went out today and bought Carolina sweatshirt, the final commitment to my grad school of choice. It was surprisingly easy, but expensive to do in San Jose, CA. Will anyone be joing me this fall?
livmoredyles Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I'll be starting my PhD there this fall! At my interview they gave us a UNC key chain and I have had it on my key chain every since for good luck. I'm really excited (especially about the low cost of living)!!! I'll have to buy the sweatshirt once I arrive. I think our arrival would have been more fun had the won the NCAA championship...Go Heels!
smellie Posted April 10, 2008 Posted April 10, 2008 I'm coming, too! (for MA) I come from a very non-athletic school and my knowledge of college sports league is below zero. So looks like I'd have a lot more than academics to catch up on!
aseemhasnain Posted April 29, 2008 Posted April 29, 2008 I am coming too, it was hard leaving U of Chicago with a 5 year assured aid offer but then the grey Chicago winter was the last straw on the camels back. See you all there!
vangogh08 Posted May 2, 2008 Posted May 2, 2008 I'm coming too. Anyone started looking for apartments yet? Yay for warm weather finally!
Leavinmyheartinsf Posted May 2, 2008 Author Posted May 2, 2008 I am not looking for apartments. I will bite the bullet and live in Odum. Coming from CA, I think it is the best choice. Finding housing is tough, and I don't want to get into a bad lease. Also, I kind of miss the convenience of living on campus.
soundboard Posted May 4, 2008 Posted May 4, 2008 Hi Leavin....... but is the campus housing not very costly?
flyingwalrus Posted May 6, 2008 Posted May 6, 2008 I'm coming too. Anyone started looking for apartments yet? Yay for warm weather finally! Yep. I've mostly looked at places in Carrboro.
theboojum Posted May 14, 2008 Posted May 14, 2008 I'll be there! Also looking at places in Carrboro. If anyone needs a roommate, let me know. A friend of mine recommended anywhere on Jones Ferry Road but, suggested avoiding University Lake and Abbey Court. Anyone else have any tips?
