stansfield Posted March 1, 2011 Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) I'm going to Indiana because great campus and strong all around in topology geoemetry and ergodic theory. everyone else share please! also why you chose the school and what you plan on studying Edited March 1, 2011 by stansfield
stansfield Posted March 1, 2011 Author Posted March 1, 2011 (edited) woops screwed that up Edited March 1, 2011 by stansfield

Good luck to you btw! Cheers!
tydil Posted March 2, 2011 Posted March 2, 2011 I will probably end up at RPI for applied math (no, I don't mean accounting). I'm leaning toward combinatorics/graph theory or my undergrad research of wavelets/harmonic analysis.
oldwolf Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 How do you know already? That's actually kinda nice ... being all squared away for next year. I'm still trying to decide between the places I've been accepted to (not to mention waiting to hear back from other places still)
aber_leider Posted March 9, 2011 Posted March 9, 2011 How do you know already? That's actually kinda nice ... being all squared away for next year. I'm still trying to decide between the places I've been accepted to (not to mention waiting to hear back from other places still) Completely on the same situation, for the time being the decision is between U Delaware and the University of Waterloo (Canada) both have very stron depts for numerical solution of PDE's
equinox Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 It looks like I am probably going to Penn State U - I don't love the location, but funding seems to be steady, and the department is VERY good. They have been very nice about keeping in touch and over the phone. Need to find a place to live...
mathgeek Posted March 10, 2011 Posted March 10, 2011 Cornell, likely for set theory and logic, with maybe a mix of analysis and topology.
stansfield Posted March 14, 2011 Author Posted March 14, 2011 how come this entire subforum is applied lol, where's the ever so prevalent algebraic geometry cohort.
aber_leider Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Completely on the same situation, for the time being the decision is between U Delaware and the University of Waterloo (Canada) both have very strong depts for numerical solution of PDE's Heading to Delaware. PDE's/Functional analysis rule!
Matt W Posted April 20, 2011 Posted April 20, 2011 Headed to Waterloo for harmonic and functional analysis.
nguyenho Posted April 21, 2011 Posted April 21, 2011 Go to Worcester Polytechnic Institute to study PDEs!!!!
breeden Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Going to UW Madison to study Several Complex Variables and Complex Geometry
FelixFlamingo Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 how come this entire subforum is applied lol, where's the ever so prevalent algebraic geometry cohort. You might have found one Certainly considering algebra and geometry, want to investigate algebraic geometry further. I will be at ucsb
