I don't know if this will be of any help, but I've just declined two offers, one from Brown and the other one from BU, for a PhD in Spanish (Hispanic Studies at Brown, Hispanic Language and Literature at BU)... So, if you're still waiting for an offer, I know each department will contact a new candidate soon.
